    A local developer is building Windsor’s first new condominium building in over 6 years.

    Valente Development Corporation has announced a $10-million, 56 unit condo building  at 8475 Wyandotte Street East.

    Construction on the Rivertown Terrace Condominiums will begin this fall.

    Valente Development Corporation President Peter Valente says it is an ideal location.

    “It is very close to grocery shopping, close to the banks, close to pharmacy, medical clinics and other restaurants and services,” says Valente.

    He says the units are ideal for seniors or people looking to downsize.

    Despite being turned down for a reduction in development charges by Windsor City Council, Valente decided to proceed with the project because of the interest.

    “I already have got a list of 40 people who have registered with just a sign being erected with no marketing, so I think the interest is going to be there.”

    Sale price will start at $114 900 and leasing is available at $1100 a month.

    A sale launch will take place next month.
